Our Story

What’s In A Name?

Buying your best friend that perfect gift—one that is as unique as her, as bright, or as timeless—should not be as stressful as scouring the entire department store or combing through webpage after webpage for hours. At least, that’s what three sisters from the Philippines envisioned when they were brainstorming for Iba. Growing up in a household with 5 sisters and a pattern-loving mom who is often dubbed ‘groovy,’ Moselle, Danelle, and Celina embarked on a project to bring atypical, pretty little things to the millennial woman’s home and closet. The promise is in its name—in the Filipino language, iba translates to ‘different,’ and this is what this e-commerce store aims to curate for you.

Every item stocked on our virtual shelves is a non-boring conversation starter one can proudly wear or display at home. We did the leg work for you to bring you one-of-a-kind items sourced from the Philippine islands so you or your bestie can vibe to the tropics all year long, sans the long plane ride.

More than just any gift manufactured at a big factory, Iba lets you explore Filipino creativity and craftsmanship. As you will come to find when browsing our catalog, each item comes with a story—a rich history of tradition, a family business built on handmade goods, or the resourceful use of an unexpected material. That’s because Iba brings homegrown Filipino creativity and ingenuity to the international market by sourcing crafts from various artisan communities across the Philippines. Our brand represents a collection that supports the local maker and promotes their livelihoods.
