These handwoven Filipino earrings were masterfully crafted by local artisans using a traditional technique passed down through generations. The makers employ a technique called inabel, native to the Ilocano people of Northern Luzon. They use handspun cotton, meticulously dyed in vibrant hues, to craft this textile. These earrings in particular hail from the mountainous Cordillera Region, home to the Philippines’ summer capital, Baguio City. The weavers were historically known to incorporate geometric shapes, flowers, and everyday items such as jars and vases onto their patterns.
