There is a slow, thoughtful process to harvesting the precious raffia palm tree, known to grow in tropical destinations like the Philippines and on wet soil. During months that raffia palms are allowed to be harvested, collectors venture into the island to source and harvest their leaves. The green, slim strands are stripped and left to dry out in the sun until they turn into the natural beige color used in products such as this clutch.
